Proofreading rates start at $20 per hour for very basic and straightforward proofing of text (I can provide a per page rate, if desired, by seeing a sample of pages). The price goes up from there, depending on the condition of the text and whether or not the formatting needs proofing as well. Please be aware that I have been in situations where, although the client thought they just needed a proofreader, the project really needed editing. This is not uncommon, and in such cases we can discuss the needs of the project and figure out an appropriate rate.
